Emilia Sargent began training with Patricia Angelin of Alba Technique in 2017. After reaching self-use certification, she began incorporating Alba Technique into her own acting work and entered her teaching track. She has observed and taught under the supervision and mentorship of Ms. Angelin in New York and Ireland. As a certified teacher, she brings Alba Technique to the Southeast. Sargent is the principal voice and acting teacher for Emilia Sargent Studio based in Tampa, FL. She has been a professional actor, singer, director, and theatre-maker, as well as a highly sought after voice and acting teacher for over twenty years, splitting her time between Tampa and New York City. As a performer, she is best known for her award-winning portrayals of Kate Keller in All My Sons, The Pilot in the solo show - Grounded, Henrietta Leavitt in Silent Sky, and Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. Select directing credits include The Elephant Man, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Copenhagen, The Children’s Hour, Straight White Men, and Next to Normal. Sargent holds an M.F.A. in Directing and Arts Administration from the University of Idaho, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Auburn University with a minor in Vocal Performance. Currently pursuing her certification in Vocology, she is conducting research on the application of Alba Technique in vocal pedagogy. She is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, The Voice Foundation, VASTA, and NATS.
